Strength Work For Runners

Let’s talk strength work. We know you hate it but it’s our goal to help you love to hate it.

What is runner-specific strength work?

You know you're a runner when... you find every excuse to skip strength work. Let's face it, hitting the pavement or trails is where the real thrill lies for most of us. But what if I told you that incorporating strength training into your routine could be a game-changer for your running experience?

At Badass Lady Gang, we understand the struggle. Time is precious, and when you’re trying to find time to fit in workouts, strength training often takes a back seat to logging miles. However, neglecting strength work can lead to a host of issues, from overuse injuries to decreased running efficiency.

Enter Coach Amanda and her curated strength library! With her expertise, we're here to shift your perspective on strength training from a chore to an essential component of your running arsenal.

Strength training isn't just about preventing injuries (although it does wonders in that department). It's about redefining your relationship with your body, enhancing your performance, and ensuring longevity in your running journey.

As women, we face unique challenges, particularly as we age. Post-menopause (a life stage we spend over 1/3 of our lives in), the decline in estrogen and progesterone leads to a rapid loss of bone mass. By engaging in targeted exercises, such as heavy lifting and plyometrics, we stimulate bone remodeling, maintaining bone mineral density and preserving our strength well into our golden years.

But the benefits don't stop there. Embracing strength work early on translates to tangible improvements in your running game. Running is a demanding sport, requiring stability and balance with every stride. Incorporating runner-specific strength exercises not only reduces the risk of injury but also enhances your running economy, making those miles feel smoother and more enjoyable.

So, why wait? It's time to prioritize strength training and unlock your full running potential. Join our Badass Lady Gang and discover a world where strength and resilience pave the way to endless running adventures.
